The League

· The CWSL is a recreation league run by volunteers and the Charlotte Mecklenburg Parks & Recreation Department. It is a league comprised of women from the ages of 19 and 50+. The current league includes 6 teams consisting of about 110 players of all skill levels and backgrounds. The entire league consists of about 200+ players that play from season to season.

· The CWSL plays two seasons: a fall season (which runs September to November) and a spring season (which runs March to June). Each season consists of regular season games and playoff games.

Player Age Range: 19-50+

· Average Player Age: 30

· Number of League Players: 200+

· Active Players per Season: 110+

· Average Number of Teams: 6

· New Players to League per Season: 10-15

· Number of First Time Soccer Players per Season: 3-5

· Percent of Experienced Players (5+years): 65%

· Percent of Players with Children: 80%

An all-star team from the Charlotte Women's Soccer League won the gold medal in the Women's Open Division at the NC State Games in Raleigh on June 17-18, 2006.
The Charlotte Women's Soccer League plays on Thursday nights at Davie Park, 4635 Pineville-Matthews Road.  The league is open to players 18 and older.
The league is directed by Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation Athletic Coordinator Kevin Anderson and CWSL President Becky Hefner.  The league has 6 teams and 110 players for both spring and fall seasons
